Gas Recovery Plants
We provide a wide variety of gas recovery technologies related to flare gas and hydrogen.
This project involved the construction of a plant to manufacture electrolyte for vanadium redox flow batteries (VRFB).
Our client, LE Systems Co., Ltd., is a subsidiary of RS Technologies Co., Ltd., and is engaged in renewable energy projects and the manufacture of storage batteries.
VRFB is a type of storage battery, which is highly durable, safe, and capable of large capacity, earning its recognition for their superiority as large-scale storage batteries for power grids. However, the market price of vanadium, used as a raw material for electrolyte, is known to fluctuate greatly, and issues such as stable material supply and cost have hindered their widespread adoption. In response to these issues, LE Systems Co., Ltd. successfully developed a technology to recover vanadium from the fly ash produced when heavy oil and petroleum coke are burned at thermal power plants and produce high-purity vanadium electrolyte at a stable price. Our company worked with the client from the basic design stage and constructed Japan's first electrolyte mass-production plant.
